Since I've had such a bad case of writer's block lately, I've finally decided on a series of exercises for myself. I'm doing the 100 Themes Challenge... times three. I'm going to write drabbles for each theme - I didn't give myself a length, but they'll probably be one to five pages or so each. To make it a bit more difficult, I am forcing myself to not use any characters I've got in any of the books I'm working on, and to enforce that, I'm posting in my most public of social networking sites. If anyone's ever bored, they're welcome to read them. :3 I can't promise how good they'll be, though - these public posts are my stretching, and will not be as involved as my private exercises involving getting my act together on either editing my graphic novel and starting the second one or finishing my YA novel.
I am also doing this times three to increase focus on different areas. I am doing one set of themes on nonfiction, one set on fiction, and one set on the fantastic, which will be mostly fairytale-esque fantasy and steampunk.
I am going to try one a day... we'll see how that goes. When I don't forget about this journal, I'll probably post bi-weekly updates or something.
